At Blazing Sun IMB, we try to lessen the focus on testing and acquiring rank, and focus on effective and efficient training. However, we do recognize the importance of our students accomplishments and use the ranking system more as waypoints on a life-long journey in martial arts. It helps to focus students and establish goals.

To pass each test, the student must demonstrate proficiency in each of the skills outlined. These are the minimum skill requirements. It is important to realize that each student's skill varies within levels and on the same level. A level 2 student may exhibit a higher level of skill in some portions of Jeet Kune Do in comparison to a level 4 student. That is why use the tests as guides, remember - it's the journey, not the destination.
